Jennifer Coleman has 20 years experience in the field of architecture and has managed the design, bidding and construction observation of many building projects. Her company, Jennifer Coleman Creative LLC, is dedicated to improving life in the city through smart design and includes commercial, residential and planning projects, as well as developing some non-architectural initiatives that promote urban living. An avid civic volunteer, she is president of the Cleveland Chapter of Links, Inc. and an officer on the boards of the Cleveland Botanical Garden and the Cleveland Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. She also serves on the boards of the Ohio Board of Building Standards, Cleveland Landmarks Commission and Design Review Committee and Laurel School. Ms. Coleman holds a bachelors of architecture degree from Cornell University. She is a 2002 American Marshall Memorial Fellow and was featured in both the 1998 Crain’s Cleveland Business 40 under 40 class and Kaleidoscope Magazine’s 40/40 Club of 2002. She was Inside Business Magazine’s 2003 Business Volunteer of the Year.
Jennifer’s latest business venture is CityProwl, a series of urban walking-tours that can be downloaded from the internet to digital media players for self-led tours. Jennifer feels that protection of the urban core is vital to the success of America’s cities and civic engagement, in part, is borne out of knowledge and understanding of the city itself. While Cleveland is the first city that the tours will be available for, she intends to take the concept nationwade.
Jennifer lives with her husband, August Fluker and son, Cole, in Cleveland’s Fairfax neighborhood.
