    Changes Are a-Comin'

Public_sq_pix_001Well, first let me wipe the dust of this blog.....Cityprowl has been in stealth mode for awhile to spend time delving into the old business plan  (also known as World Domination Plan). It finally is looking good and we are back to producing tours with a vengence! The Warehouse District, Downtown Bank Lobbies and Public Square prowls are simultaneously underway as we speak and should be uploaded around August 1. With the existing 2 downtown prowls, the 1st series of 5 Downtown Prowls will be complete, consisting of over 2.5 hours of urban audio enjoyment!
In addition to the new prowls, the www.cityprowl.com website will be undergoing a few changes to be able to support future expansion plans. Each prowl will have its own page with a map, photos & background information, in addition to a download  link. But don't worry, this blog will remain and actually be used as....an actual blog. Imagine. The new design should also be happening in late July.
So, check back for new news early & often. Also, you can peek at the CityProwl Communitywalk Map to get a peek at all of the prowl routes, complete with pictures.

Spring is Right Around the Corner....

Hello Everybody! Long time no post. We are busy little bees here at CityProwl, what with moving into the eTech Hatchery on Star Plaza in Downtown Cleveland, interviewing interesting folks for the Warehouse District prowl (and waiting for some temperate weather so I can get on the street and record) and talking with CityProwl clients and sponsors. Whew! Since there is a bit of time before the 3 spring prowls are ready, I am editing a mini-prowl I did in New York City in August. I was in Soho for a day and went out into the busy streets and recorded the sounds, which were numerous, loud and celebratory as it was the day Italy won the World Cup. It is only about a 5-6 minute clip and should be available in a few days. Also, take a look in today's Plain Dealer Business section - there is an article on me and my mentor, Kathy Coakley Barrie! Lots of great things have occured since CityProwl launched at the beginning of the month! I have met lots of great people around town who are giving me awesome feedback. I am getting started on the next tour of Cleveland's Arcades next week. The first newsletter should be coming out at the beginning of August. Welcome to CityProwl Cleveland!!

Cityprowl is, simply, a tool to promote the idea that we should value our cities because their continued vitality is essential to maintaining our quality of life - culturally, economically and morally. The more that city dwellers and visitors learn about their city, the more passionate ambassadors for it they will become. All cities have thousands of wonderful stories to tell. Cityprowl has captured some of Cleveland's tales and placed them in a digital format that can be downloaded to an Ipod, digital media player of telephone. For about 30 minutes I, as your host, will wallk with you on the city streets and into buildings and recount to you some of the stories of Cleveland's history, culture and architecture. Because the tours are short, you can take them at any time you like. New tours will be added regularly - the downtown area will be tackled first, then some of Cleveland's neighborhoods will be explored. Your feedback is very important - please leave your comments on how the tours worked for you and what areas you'd like to tour. So download a tour and become a Cityprowler today!
